Himawari has always been infatuated with gaining power, for her slow but sure ascent amidst the witch ranks has deemed her as the gifted lady among all. Her only activity from childhood to adolescent entailed dousing her nose in spell books and conjuring them with precision upon a few tries. Her father, a wizard himself, is always proud of her and she works like a true prodigy.
Her ascent in the ranks is seemingly easy, although it always causes the young lady to take the brunt of it, being on the frontline along with the venerable elders upon any adversity. But to her rescue, her youth nullifies it rather smoothly, allowing her to be in her faultless strength.
One day, her curiosity gets the faultless part of her, as she discovers a book which brims itself with dark magic. It’s a book only the venerable elders are allowed to open, uninformed of not venturing such a threshold of magic.
Her eyes glide over the inked spells on the beige hued paper, before viewing one which poses the highest threat to the caster rather than the ones upon whom it gets casted.
Her eyes gleam in anticipation as she hashes a knife through her palm before permitting the red liquid to drop over the spell, as she chants the words precisely before naming their sworn enemy, the pack of werewolves which threatens to destroy their community.
She conjures such a thought that she’d be successful, yet she feels herself being pulled towards the ground, as lethargy and vertigo allows her to fall. A few witches beneath her rank discover her not much later, as she is ushered to her quarter before informing her father.
His father conjures a spell to awaken her, to which she gains consciousness. Her being extremely weak and knowing of the situation from the witches, he treads for the library to view the book and discovers that his daughter has a day to live. Himawari is informed of such, causing her to succumb to glumness. He promises her with determination for an antidote to be made.
The venerable elders along with her father skims through every book brimming with potential ingredients of a healing potion until a female venerable poses one in front of the elders.
The potion gets made rather quickly and ushered to her, and her father voices her the two choices as the venerable elders said: She doesn’t take the potion and dies with the rank of a venerable, or she takes the potion and never rises in rank forever, a punishment decreed since the inception of witchcraft.
Himawari with her strive for power engages in a dilemma, a tug of war among life and death. She asks for time whilst making her decision. Before her final hour, she informs all about her intake of the potion in sacrifice of the higher ranks. The wizards and witches welcome her with open arms, and the book of dark magic is stowed away for good.
